Shape the fitFIT CONSTRUCTION MAP
Computer systems design, computing infrastructure, custom programming, data processing and related technical services are lasted as three acts: form shaped, pressure relieved, structure finished. The map is a bench, not a catalogue.
LAST 01
Primary form. The last the rest of the work must match.
LAST 02
Sole support. Infrastructure that takes weight.
LAST 03
Pattern cut. Code lasted to the process.
LAST 04
Stitch path. Processing that can flex.
LAST 05
Lasting hold after wear begins.
LAST 06
Welt line between systems.
Form shaped work decides the interior of the system. Without it, hosting and software are pulled over the wrong last.
We design computer systems as lasts: identity, data, compute, integration and operational finish arranged so the organisation can wear the whole. Included: pressure map, target last drawings, service pattern, and a construction sequence. Form shaped to the walk. Pressure named before build. Structure finished as a last reference the bench can follow.
Custom enterprise software is cut from the process. Included: measurement, module pattern, controlled pulls, tests as pressure marks, operational edge finish. Written for the people who will walk in it.
Pressure work finds the bite: latency, identity, overnight heat, audit pinch, support overload. Relief is construction, not consolation.
Big data processing and analytics are lasted against quality and time. Included: pipeline pattern, storage last, preparation rules, and marks for freshness. Data processing and preparation become a stitch path instead of a pile of extracts. Pressure is relieved where reports used to tear at the welt of the working day.
Computer related services that join systems are welted. Included: interface last, identity stitch, error paths, and a flex that does not open. Friction is removed at hand-offs. The related services, nec, that do not fit a catalogue still receive a last number so they can be held.
Finished structure is what operations can hold: hosting with a sole, databases with an insole, support with a lasting plan.
Computing infrastructure providers, web hosting and related services are treated as sole support. Included: environment last, capacity, backup, recovery, network grain, and monitoring as pressure marks. Cloud hosting and infrastructure management are held so traffic is a walk, not a tear. We finish the edge so access and change do not leave raw cuts.
Managed IT services, technical support, database design and administration keep the last true after wear. Included: watch, patch, backup verification, query grain, and a support last with numbered severity. Structure finished means the organisation can walk without carrying a spare last in both hands.
Every service last includes a written fit note, a last reference, named pressure marks, and a finish condition for operations. Hosting is not complete without a recovery sole. Software is not complete with a raw operational edge. Analytics is not complete if the stitch opens when the calendar turns. The London bench at 66 Paul Street keeps those conditions honest. A single last still runs measure, cut, pull, stitch, finish, wear. A full room places lasts in relation. Output is ready wear, not a display last.
No. Inherited material is common. We recut, re-last, or retire pieces that cannot take the pull. The foot of the work decides.
Often. The sole can be replaced while the upper is still serviceable. We mark where the old stitch will not hold.
Wear under a load that resembles production. Pressure notes are read. Fit is verified or the last is corrected before we call the work ready.
